Nautec MicroMaxx-Filter® Valves

Cold water diving can lead to internal icing in breathing air. This issue worsens with higher water vapor levels in the breathing mix. The water protection or dip tube is the first system point affected by this. Left unchecked, steel cylinders can rust and aluminum cylinders can oxidize. Micro particles can contaminate the air and impact the diver and equipment. The Nautec filter element is crafted from hydrophobic PE plastic, a material that is heat-resistant, safe for humans, impact-resistant, and chemically neutral. It filters out particles as small as 3 to 5 micrometers and is waterproof, ensuring safety against icing. The MicroMaxx Filter replaces traditional plastic or brass water protection tubes.

NAUTEC recommends annual inspection of the filter element during visual inspections. Heavy use or questionable air sources may require more frequent checks. The filter should be replaced every five years during hydrostatic testing. Cylinders with MicroMaxx filter systems should be marked to prevent damage when the valve is removed.
