Hollis – PRISM 2 – FMCL
PRISM 2
The Prism 2 is a fully closed circuit Rebreather, perfect for exploring the open ocean, caves, or wrecks. This unit can
be controlled electronically or manually, allowing you to choose how you maintain the loop PPO2. Comes with the option
of front-mounted counterlungs. When combined with the rear-mounted radial scrubber, the Prism 2 offers easy breathing
with low resistive effort and minimal hydrostatic loading. Tested by ANSTI at 100M, the Prism 2 has the lowest WOB of
any mixed gas CCR available. The standard kit includes an electronic secondary control and primary LED displays with a
backplate/wing assembly, providing a complete kit ready for diving out of the box. Tanks and valves must be purchased
separately.
FRONT MOUNTED COUNTERLUNGS
Dual, front-mounted counterlungs give the diver a flexible reservoir equal to the maximum displacement of the
diver’s own lung volume, ensuring minimal hydrostatic loading. These counterlungs come equipped with both automatic
and manual gas addition systems, along with a variable volume control valve (used during ascent to vent excess
expanding gas volume or to flush the loop). Diluent addition is automatically triggered as hydrostatic pressure
increases and the counterlung collapses against the valve actuator.
Rear mounted radial scrubber
The Prism 2 uses a user-packed, radial 5.5lb CO2 scrubber, offering optimal duration, insulation, and work of
breathing on the rebreather. The scrubber canister is vertically mounted on the backplate between twin supply
cylinders (one for oxygen and one for diluent). The transparent scrubber bucket is molded from Engineered
Thermoplastic, ensuring the CO2 scrubber is correctly installed, packed, and provides a visual indication of
loop integrity.
HIGH PERFORMANCE DSV and BOV
Each Prism 2 comes complete with a standard DSV (Dive Surface Valve) and offers a BOV (Bailout Valve) as an
optional feature. The BOV includes a high-performance regulator valve, is extremely lightweight, and can
directly replace the DSV on your Prism 2. Many professionals consider the Prism 2 BOV a fundamental safety
device for the rebreather, meeting the requirements for Technical rebreather courses.
Electronics
The electronics, sensors, and batteries are housed in the electronics head assembly at the top of the
scrubber, with supply hoses running over the diver’s shoulders into the top of the counterlungs. An
analog LED primary display provides a quick overview of unit performance with status and alarm
indicators, while an independent digital OLED secondary display confirms the unit’s performance.
