Featuring exceptional anti-microbial properties provided by silver ion technology and superior moisture-wicking capabilities from a unique fabric, the J2 base layer is crafted for prolonged use under a drysuit.

Maintaining dry skin is crucial for success, whether it’s for warmth or infection prevention. The J2 base layer is engineered to draw sweat away from the skin, keeping a dry layer next to the skin. Air serves as a better insulator than water, thus ensuring enhanced thermal protection.

Taking performance to the next level, the J2 base layer system incorporates proven anti-microbial silver ions embedded in the fabric fibers. This feature allows for extended wear without the risk of skin infections, which was particularly vital during the US Deep Caving Team’s expedition to explore the Cheve cave system in Mexico in 2013, for which the J2 was specifically designed.

The exceptional wicking performance of the J2 is evident even when the fabric becomes wet. Moisture is drawn away from the skin and further away through the undersuit fibers with the right drysuit underwear combination. Even in the case of a suit flood, the J2 retains some of its performance.

Silver ions are integrated into the fibers during manufacturing, ensuring that the fabric’s bacteriostatic and antifungal properties endure. This feature is not washable. The silver ions hinder the formation of bacterial cell membranes, preventing most bacteria from thriving in the garment’s fibers while leaving naturally occurring skin bacteria unaffected.
