TRANSPLATE HARNESS:

Designed for divers seeking the support of a backpack-style harness for improved weight-load distribution while utilizing a hard metal backplate. Resembling a mountaineer’s backpack, the TransPlate harness distributes weight across the hips and back, reducing shoulder strain. Pair with a 6-pound steel backplate to eliminate or reduce weight pockets. Adjustable straps accommodate various exposure suits, ensuring easy wearing and removal. STAINLESS STEEL XT & XT LITE BACKPLATES:

All Dive Rite backplates are precision laser cut and hand-finished to guarantee smooth edges that won’t harm harness or accessory webbing. The XT backplate is constructed from 11 gauge, low carbon, rust-resistant 316L grade stainless steel. Weighing 6.5 lbs (2.9kg), stainless steel plates are a favored choice for divers seeking balanced ballast weight distribution. The XT Lite backplate is a redesign of the original Dive Rite backplates dating back to 1984. This lightweight version includes updated features and ergonomics for modern divers. Laser cut from thin 14 gauge low carbon, rust-resistant 316L stainless steel, the unique shape conforms to the diver’s back while rounded corners prevent discomfort or damage to exposure suits. Specifically ideal for women or divers with shorter torsos, the short backplate is 1.5 inches shorter than standard length. Weighing just 2.5 pounds, this compact backplate is perfect for travel or reducing weight load.
