It boasts a fast wide-angle Æ’2.0 lens, back-lit high-speed CMOS sensor, and powerful TruePic VIII image processor, enabling users to capture vibrant photos and videos with exceptional color and detail. The Tough TG-6 is waterproof up to 50 feet (15m), dustproof, shockproof up to 7 feet (2.4m), crushproof up to 100 kgf, freezeproof down to 14ºF (-10°C), and features dual-pane protective glass construction for superior anti-fogging performance. Its Variable Macro System allows ultra-close-up shooting as close as 1cm from the lens front. With full underwater shooting modes and a new fisheye converter lens supporting circular fisheye photography, along with a range of accessories, the Tough TG-6 stands out as a top choice for field photography.

Tough Performance for Shooting Anytime

The rugged construction of the entire camera body and double-lock system on the battery cover provide waterproofing up to 50 feet for underwater shooting and excellent dustproofing for use in harsh environments. Its floating design protects the camera’s interior, passing drop tests from heights of up to seven feet, while the reinforced body can handle loads of up to 100 kgf. Additionally, the Tough TG-6 is freezeproof down to 14ºF and features a nitrogen-filled, hermetically sealed dual-pane protective glass construction to prevent condensation and fogging in extreme temperature conditions.

High-Quality Images

The Olympus Tough TG-6 comes equipped with a high-resolution, high-speed Æ’2.0 zoom lens and a high-speed back-lit CMOS image sensor, providing excellent high-sensitivity performance for capturing bright and detailed images in low-light environments, perfect for fast-moving subjects. The anti-reflective (AR) coating on the image sensor’s sealing glass minimizes ghosting and flares. Featuring the TruePic VIII image processor from the award-winning Olympus OM-D E-M1X® professional model, this camera reduces noise levels and enhances resolution in low-contrast areas. RAW data can be recorded and edited using the Olympus Workspace image editing software.

Variable Macro System

Explore the world of macro photography and capture intricate details with the four shooting modes available, enabling high-quality image capture of the unseen microscopic world. Achieve close-up shots as near as 1cm in Program and Aperture modes for flexible photography. The separately sold LED Light Guide, LG-1, evenly illuminates the subject during image capture, while the Flash Diffuser FD-1 provides increased light for better exposure and can be used underwater.

Microscope Mode

Microscope Mode allows users to capture detailed images of tiny subjects that are hard to see with the naked eye, such as insect antennae, leaf veins, and snowflakes. Achieve a maximum shooting magnification of 7×8 for magnified shots similar to using a microscope.

Microscope Control Mode

Switch between different magnification ratios with ease, allowing users to observe and photograph subjects at 1x, 2x, and 4x. When the subject is 1cm from the lens, the image on the rear LCD monitor can be zoomed in up to 44.4x.

Focus Stacking Mode

Focus stacking mode captures multiple shots with varying focus points, resulting in a fully focused photo. This feature is particularly useful for macro photography with shallow depth of field, allowing users to adjust settings for different subjects and precision in the final image.

Focus Bracketing Mode

Capture up to 30 images in a single shot with this function, shifting the focus from foreground to background. Choose from three levels of focal shift to match the subject and shooting conditions, perfect for capturing intricate details like flower petals or insect wings.

Dive Deep Into Underwater Photography

With five underwater shooting modes optimized for various underwater scenarios, the Tough TG-6 allows users to capture vibrant and colorful underwater photos at different depths. The Underwater White Balance mode offers three options for color adjustment in deep water, while the Fisheye Converter FCON-T02 (sold separately) expands shooting possibilities with circular fisheye photography.
