Robust Performance for Any Time Shooting

With sealing throughout the camera body and double-lock construction on the battery cover, the camera offers waterproof performance up to 50 feet underwater and excellent dustproof capabilities for dirty and dusty environments. The floating construction protects the camera’s interior, passing drop tests up to seven feet, while the reinforced body can handle loads up to 100 kgf. The Tough TG-6 is freeze-proof down to 14°F and features a nitrogen-filled, hermetically sealed dual-pane protective glass construction to prevent condensation and fogging, ensuring reliable shooting in extreme temperature conditions.

High-Quality Imaging

Featuring a high-resolution Æ’2.0 zoom lens and a high-speed back-lit CMOS image sensor, the Olympus Tough TG-6 delivers exceptional high-sensitivity performance for capturing bright, detailed images in low-light conditions, perfect for fast-moving subjects. The image sensor’s sealing glass incorporates an anti-reflective (AR) coating to minimize ghosting and flares. The TruePic VIII image processor from the award-winning Olympus OM-D E-M1X professional model reduces noise levels and enhances resolution in low-contrast areas. RAW data can be recorded and edited using the Olympus Workspace image editing software.

Versatile Macro System

Explore macro photography and capture intricate details with four shooting modes that open up a new world of macro shooting. This close-up performance enables high-quality image capture of the microscopic world invisible to the naked eye. The camera allows for a closest focusing distance of 1cm even in Program and Aperture modes for more flexible photography.

The LED Light Guide, LG-1 (sold separately), uses the camera’s front LED to evenly illuminate the subject during image capture, aiding in composing the shot. The LG-1 also serves as a constant light source for subject illumination.

The Flash Diffuser FD-1 (sold separately) utilizes the in-camera flash to enhance subject lighting, allowing for lower ISO settings and faster shutter speeds, and extending the working distance. The FD-1 can also be used underwater.

Microscope Mode

Microscope Mode enables users to capture detailed images of tiny subjects such as insect antennae and feet, leaf veins, snowflakes, and more. Achieve a maximum shooting magnification of 7×8 with the optical zoom set to the telephoto end and the subject positioned 1 cm from the lens, producing magnified shots similar to using a microscope.

Microscope Control Mode

Switch between different display magnification ratios with a single button press, similar to changing microscope objective lenses for observing and photographing subjects at 1x, 2x, and 4x. When the subject is positioned 1 cm from the lens, the rear LCD monitor can zoom in up to 44.4x.

Focus Stacking Mode

Focus stacking mode captures multiple shots while automatically adjusting the focus from foreground to background. Only the focused areas are extracted and merged, creating a fully focused photo with a deep depth of field, ideal for macro photography with shallow depth of field. Users can set between 3 and 10 shots to fine-tune settings for different subjects and achieve precision in the final image.

Focus Bracketing Mode

With a single shot, this mode captures up to 30 images while shifting focus from foreground to background. Users can select three levels of focal shift and the number of shots to suit the subject and shooting conditions, making it convenient for setting the focal position instantly when photographing flower petals or insect wings.

Exploring Underwater Photography

To enhance underwater shooting capabilities, the Tough TG-6 offers five underwater shooting modes optimized for various scenarios, ensuring sharp, colorful underwater photos at all depths. The popular Underwater White Balance mode now provides three options for appropriate color adjustment in deep water. The new Fisheye Converter FCON-T02 (sold separately) enables circular fisheye photography, expanding creative shooting possibilities with additional accessories.

Five Underwater Modes

• Underwater Wide: Optimized for dim underwater conditions and deeper water.
• Underwater Snapshot: Records subjects using natural lighting in shallow water for natural-looking photos.
• Underwater Macro: Ideal for close-up shots of small subjects like fish.
• Underwater Microscope: Captures even smaller subjects up to 1 cm from the lens.
• Underwater HDR: Recreates scenes without losing details in dark areas.

Three Underwater White Balance Modes

• Underwater Shallow: Recommended for use in water depths up to about 10 feet to enhance red tones in shallow water.
• Underwater Mid-Range: Optimized color tuning for water depths from 10-50 feet.
• Underwater Deep: Designed for use with the Underwater Case PT-059 (sold separately) in depths exceeding 50 feet, improving blue tones in photos.

Fisheye Converter, FCON-T02

The Fisheye Converter FCON-T02 (sold separately) offers circular and diagonal fisheye photography with zoom control, even underwater for zoomed-in shots. The Converter Adapter CLA-T01 (sold separately) is required to attach this lens, compatible only with the Tough TG-6.

Field Sensor System

The Field Sensor System utilizes tracking information from various sensors in the camera, including GPS, manometer, temperature sensor, and compass, to record data that can be synced with photos and videos using the Olympus Image Track (OI.Track) smartphone app. Users can view this data by pressing the INFO button, even when the camera is off.

Pro Capture Mode

Never miss a moment with Pro Capture Mode, which captures 10 frames per second for 0.5 seconds before the shutter button is fully pressed, ideal for capturing fast-moving subjects like insects or splashing liquid.

High Definition LCD Display

The new high-definition 1.04 million-pixel rear LCD monitor offers improved visibility with optimized brightness and color saturation for outdoor use.

Date Imprint

Embed the date and time of capture into still images for easy reference later. Users can toggle this feature on and off as needed.

Underwater Case, PT-059

Exclusively designed for the Tough TG-6, this underwater case is waterproof up to 148 feet, allowing for easy operation of the camera’s control dial for exposure compensation underwater. Two external flash units (UFL-3) are compatible for multiunit flash photography in a compact system.
