The first breath underwater marks the beginning of a new journey. The innovative combination of Venturi effect and inhalation effort adjustment is instinctual and easy. Aqua Lung’s Master Breathing System enables divers to manage both with a simple twist. From any depth, in any conditions, during any dive – the MBS will adjust.

First Stage Features:

• With the first stage not attached to a cylinder valve, the Auto Closure Device (ACD) seals the inlet to safeguard the internal parts from contamination and corrosive water.
  • Preserves internal lubrication
  • Keeps the inlet filter clean and dry
  • Safe for higher oxygen concentrations
• Excellent cold-water performance is achieved by updating Aqua Lung’s three anti-freeze features:
  1. Zero moisture means no ice: The LEG3ND’s built-in dry chamber isolates inner components from the external environment to keep them clean and dry
  2. Deep ribs create a large heat exchange surface area to prevent ice formation on the mechanism
  3. The new over molded cap delays ice formation on the external diaphragm
• Auto-Balanced (also known as Over-Balanced)
• Gradual increase in working pressure to maintain optimal breathing effort: The first stage’s working pressure automatically increases based on the diver’s depth to counteract the denser breathing air
• Ergonomically designed DIN and YOKE screws with a bi-material “Soft Grip” surface for better handling during installation or removal of the first stage – especially in cold conditions
• Channeled YOKE screw to prevent water accumulation
• Special ACD Dust cap on the regulator body to protect the inlet fitting and ACD system from damage
• Strategically positioned HP and MP ports for optimal hose routing

Second Stage Features:

• New front cover openings direct water flow sideways over the diaphragm
  • Radial openings to prevent free flows in strong currents
  • Wider openings reduce peak inspiratory flow by 20%
• New over molded exhaust cover made of elastomer with a “soft touch” effect
• Over molded air purge
  • Increased surface area for easier regulator purging
  • Purge depth controller optimizes air flow with minimal effort
• Patented Comfobite mouthpiece reduces jaw fatigue and enhances comfort
• Detachable and reusable mouthpiece clamp allows quick tool-free mouthpiece changes without plastic waste
• Enlarged heat exchanger helps prevent freezing of the second stage mechanism
