The MTX-R regulator excels in cold water conditions and significantly reduces the risk of free flow. It incorporates innovative features such as an over-moulded first-stage end cap and environmental diaphragm, a forged first-stage body for optimal thermal performance, a ribbed diaphragm clamp, and an enhanced heat exchanger on the second stage with metal elements integrated into the front cover design.
The MTX-R features a unique over-moulded first-stage end cap and environmental diaphragm to prevent ice buildup that could lead to free flow. The forged first-stage body ensures maximum thermal performance. The ribbed diaphragm clamp improves heat exchange in cold water. Angled HP ports allow for optimal hose routing and transmitter fitting. Parallel turret ports enhance hose orientation. The regulator provides excellent impact protection for both the first and second stages. The second stage is user-friendly with no dive adjustment controls and a reduced risk of free flow. Additionally, it comes with a double swivel hose for improved movement and comfort. The patented heat exchanger surrounding the valve mechanism dissipates cold from gas expansion while capturing warmth from the surrounding water. The MTX-R has been tested under extreme cold water conditions by the United States Navy Experimental Dive Unit and is suitable for Octopus use up to 60 meters deep.
